Historic Core of the City of Banja Luka

The start of the walk is planned from the Castle fortress as the oldest core of Banja Luka and continue to the most significant buildings from the Ottoman period, passing through the core of the city from the Austro-Hungarian period and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, which are mixed with each other. The walk ends in the city main street (King Peter I Karađorđević), which was formed during the Austro-Hungarian rule and was the backbone of the development of modern Banja Luka. This street is home to significant public and religious buildings, high-quality residential buildings built at the end of the 19th century. The walk ends at the old railway station building built during the Austro-Hungarian period, behind which a modern Government building was built. This connection is a clear indicator of the importance of this street for the modern development of the city of Banja Luka. This route will cover all significant cultural monuments as well as the challenges faced in today's development of the city.

Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Hosted by the University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy
