Kolkata as we know it is also known as ‘The city of palaces’. It is aptly called so because of the existence of numerous palatial building in and around the city. Sadly these buildings are now just a mere witness to the bygone era of the babus and british raj. Destroyed and dilapidated, these buildings are slowly vanishing among the pages of history. Few have been conserved and renovated by the Govt., but others are left unnoticed.
We are aiming to raise an awareness among people by giving them proper information regarding these structures which has contributed in shaping our heritage and culture.

The life and activities around these ghats along the river Ganga are different to each other. Through this walking, we shall explore a number of ghats including the flower market, Mullick ghat, Baboo ghat and some more. We shall share the history of these areas, watch the activities, take photographs and enjoy. Unfortunately, the ghats are the main sources of pollution in the river and a matter of serious concern. It has been observed that people using these ghats are not much aware of. Thus, we shall discuss and share our ideas to prevent the hazards.
